The weather in Peru is fairly warm throughout the year. The nighttime

temperatures during these months will drop to the 40’s. The season from December through April is an ideal time to go to Peru, as the temperatures drop to the comfortable range, the humidity has gone down, and the mosquitoes are not around (this is huge).

Attire: Layered clothing for the duration of the trip to stay warm on chilly mornings that quicky heat up as the day goes on. Much of the tour will be walking through the various attractions… WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOSED TOE, GOOD SUPPORTIVE SHOES. A hat day to protect from the scorching Perubian sun.

 This tour requires a lot of walking, possibly standing for long periods of time, the ability to sit and ride in the van for up to 4 hours, Lots of breaks in shady areas. However. this itinerary is design base on my avarage age of my clients, with lots of breaks.

• MiraFlores: is an upscale tourist neighborhood that’s safe to walk around and has plenty to see and do within walking distance. One of the top things to do in Miraflores is visit Larcomar, an open-air mall on a cliff that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. 

• Cusco: The ancient history can be felt in every step you take through the streets of its towns, which seem to have stopped in time. Its cities are riddled with so much mysticism that you will not want to leave. And if you have to depart, there will always be a burning desire inside you to return as soon as possible.

• Sacred Valley: This splendid Andean valley is home to major archaeological sites and picturesque villages that have maintained their ancestral culture. Maras, Moray, Pisac, Chinchero and Ollantaytambo form part of this cultural richness, but the valley also offers incredible natural beauty which is the perfect setting for outdoor sports, or simply for relaxing. 

• Ollantaytambo: is one of the most important towns in the Sacred Valley of the Incas in Cusco. It is the only place that preserves its ancient Inca urban design. Because it is a mandatory stop before reaching Machu Picchu, it is highly visited. However, Ollanta has its own charms. Chief among them are in the Inca archaeological remains.

• Macchu Picchu: Located on top of a mountain in the middle of a tropical forest, it is considered the tourist attraction par excellence in Peru. The historic sanctuary is a place that captivates tourists not only for its dazzling architectural beauty, but also for its important historical-cultural legacy, which has led it to be recognized and admired throughout the world.

• Maras: Visiting the salt mines is impressive: there are hundreds of sparkling white "pools" you can walk on. And in the surrounding area, you can find every imaginable product made with this precious salt—even chocolates!
Maras is also home to the Moray Archaeological Complex, where circular terraces or "muyus" are sunk into the earth, creating different microclimates. This site appears to have been an Inca agricultural experimentation center.

• Sacsayhuaman: was built in the 15th century by Pachacutec, the ninth Inca emperor, between 1438 and 1471 during the height of the Inca civilization. It is believed to have been a ceremonial fortress with religious functions. Due to the size and weight of the stones used, some of which weigh several tons, its construction is particularly notable. This enclosure has impressive architecture, with no use of mortar; the stones could fit perfectly together. Likewise, stones forming walls with perfectly carved and fitted edges have been found, and some stones have irregular and angular shapes that fit only the nearby stones.

• Coricancha:  Temple of the Sun was the most important. In fact, it was so large that it took up more than half of the Church of Santo Domingo, which stands in its place today. In this temple, even today you can see the embalmed bodies of the Children of the Sun, which rest on chairs made of gold, placed at a golden table. There were several mummies found here, and before it was destroyed, it was believed that the temple was protected by Mamaconas, the priestess of the Sun.

• San Pedro: Not far from Cusco’s main square, opposite a train station, is San Pedro market, the city’s main food market. Designed in 1925 by Gustave Eiffel, it is the oldest market in the city. Traditions, colors, flavors and aromas are fused in this market, where it is possible to buy traditional fresh products from throughout the region, including meats, cheeses, bread, coffee, chocolate, fruit, vegetables, flowers, as well as handcrafts.

• Museo Inka Cusco: is the best museum in town for those interested in the Incas. The restored interior is jam-packed with a fine collection of metal- and gold-work, jewelry, pottery, textiles, mummies, models and the world’s largest collection of queros(ceremonial Inca wooden drinking vessels).
